Friday 26th June – Nottingham’s live music scene was taken up a level as Boiler Room brought 6,000 ravers to Colwick Park for a large-scale outdoor summer session with Boiler Room, featuring one of the biggest line-ups of the season across two incredible stages.
Having taken over various venues throughout Nottingham over the past decade, Boiler Room’s return to the city has been highly anticipated, marking a milestone for everyone involved. Delivered by Boiler Room and facilitated locally by Nottingham-born club brand Groovebox, the show delivered one of the standout electronic music events of the summer, bringing together world-class artists, incredible production and thousands of passionate music fans under the intense British sunshine.
From the moment gates opened at 3pm, Colwick Park was transformed. Festival-goers poured into the park, making their way around the lakes before discovering two stages, food vendors, fairground rides and an electric atmosphere that lasted well into the evening. With blue skies from start to finish, the setting couldn’t have been more perfect for one of Nottingham’s biggest electronic music events to date.
The show was structured around two distinct spaces, each offering its own unique atmosphere.
The Main Stage provided the perfect setting for huge headline performances from Overmono, Giggs, Joy Orbison, Bakey, Ledbyher, Riria and Ryota. In classic Boiler Room style, the infamous stage setup gave ravers access behind the decks, creating an atmosphere unlike any other. Towering production, powerful sound and a sea of people surrounding the artists made every set feel immersive, while the crowd’s energy never let up despite the scorching summer heat.
Further down the park, nestled amongst the food stalls and fairground rides on the opposite side of the lake, sat the Second Stage – the place to be from the moment the gates opened. Hidden beneath a large canopy, attendees found themselves surrounded by the ultimate 360-degree stage setup, where no matter where you stood; at the barrier, on the viewing platform or directly behind the DJ, you felt part of the action.
With performances from Chloe Robinson, Fonzo, Harriet Jaxxon, Special Request, Y U QT and Zero, the Second Stage built an atmosphere of its own throughout the day. Intimate, energetic and packed from start to finish, it became a firm favourite for many in attendance.
From start to finish, every artist brought something different to the day.
The afternoon eased festival-goers into the event before the energy steadily built across both stages. Joy Orbison and Bakey raised the tempo heading into the evening, while Giggs’ appearance brought a unique moment to the lineup before Overmono stepped up to close the show in style.
As daylight turned to night and the sun began to set over Colwick Park, the atmosphere reached another level. Thousands packed around the Main Stage, while the Second Stage continued to deliver unforgettable moments of its own, giving attendees the chance to experience something completely different just a short walk away.
While the lineup was exceptional, it was the atmosphere that made the day so memorable.
Whether fans spent the day at the barrier, dancing behind the DJs, relaxing by the lakes between sets or discovering new artists across both stages, there was a genuine sense of community throughout the event as thousands came together to celebrate everything that makes live electronic music so special.
Even with temperatures soaring throughout the day, the energy never faded. Blue skies, sunshine and the stunning surroundings of Colwick Park gave the event a festival feel rarely seen in Nottingham, making it easy to forget you were still in the East Midlands.
For Groovebox, facilitating Boiler Room’s return to Nottingham represented a significant milestone for the local brand and another important moment for the city’s music scene.
As a home-grown events brand, Groovebox played a key role in delivering Boiler Room’s largest Nottingham event to date, helping bring one of the world’s most recognised electronic music platforms back to the city. Supporting an event of this scale reflects Groovebox’s continued growth as a promoter while further reinforcing Nottingham’s reputation as a destination for world-class electronic music.
As praise of the event continued in the days that followed, it was clear this had been more than just another event. Boiler Room’s return to Nottingham showcased the city’s thriving electronic music scene, with Groovebox playing an integral role in facilitating a landmark event that will be remembered by everyone in attendance.
